Since every media house worth its salt is going hysterical with joy over Narendra Modi’s #100days of #AccheDin, we thought we’d join in the jamboree (hear the drum rolls all the way from Japan?).  But then so much has already been written and said about Modi’s “achievements” over the past three months or so, we thought we’d detail out the one feat that mainstream media hasn’t really cared to highlight – Modi’s contribution to his own and the PMO Twitter account.

Twitter India released Modi’s report card today and it’s got overachiever written all over it. Mr Modi is now the most-followed politician in the world after US President Barack Obama. His followers have, since he won the 2014 General Elections, crossed the 6-million mark. (In unrelated news, Amitabh Bachchan crossed 10 million on 31 August.)

The PMO account, which has replaced press conferences much to the chagrin of the journalist community, has grown more than 40 per cent.

While some may be have been confused with Modi’s recent ramblings in Japanese on Twitter, it is being touted as the next level of diplomacy, or should we say Twiplomacy. Moreover Modi has got people from New Zealand to New Orleans tweeting about him. No, we didn’t make that up.

India is, as you can see in the map, burning (no pun intended) with love for Modi, at least on Twitter.

Modi’s Cabinet colleagues also seem to be rushing to Twitter, even if they are not half as good as Mr PM himself. For now, most of them seem more comfortable with retweeting from PMO and PIB handles. Like Shah Rukh Khan said in Chak De! India: “Har team main sirf ek hi gunda hota hai”. (Troll disclaimer: We mean it in an endearing way.)

Here are the top three retweeted tweets from Modi. Acche Din Mubarak folks!
