Dear Newslaundry ,
The media must be free and fair, uninfluenced by corporate or state interests. That's why you, the public, need to pay to keep news free.
ContributeThis is my second letter to Newslaundry , this time instead of bitching about you guys I would like to put my perspective on a few things that I’m sure that you will talk about.
BREXIT -I’m sure that you guys will talk about BREXIT , I hope you will not be condescending for British voters like all the other media houses, instead of calling them stupid can we look on the following points
Case in point is Greece, do you really think austerity was a good policy for that country, no it certainly was not but it was good for Europe . This doesn’t make any sense they could have defaulted on loan and devaluated their currency but what really happened is they had live in misery. That was just tyranny of majority. I understand there must be some racist but not all of them.
I am hearing one more argument about this and that is young people wanted to stay in and old people wanted to go out. Now think of this old people have been there when there was no European Union and young people grew up in European Union don’t you think old people have been there in both system know better.
This is not my view but just counter narrative.
Times Now-interview– My question here is to you guys think Arnab’s behavior in last two years presented this opportunity and will Modi ever give interview to real journalist.
Questions to Venu – Tell us everything about your feud with times now.
Bill Maher- We like him. Doesn’t mean that we have to agree with his position whether it is on India or Islam. We all make mistakes Abhinandan just accept it.
Regards,
SachinBaghel
Hello NLTeam,
I am a subscriber and I have a question about that, why don’t you guys send regular reminders before subscription payment date.
If it’s a technical issue or you think using that tech. will cost that much there are free softwares to do that. I know single person run companies who are able to send reminders to their subscriber before subscription date.
Also, I have another request if you guys can make some content exclusive for subscriber. Or at least give the subscriber access a day or to before putting it out in the open, again should not be a big tech. expenditure.
I say this because when you say I am a subscriber I want to know a subscriber to what. Yes, all the good heart and keeping the news free thing is awesome but when I am paying and not donating having some immediate value for my money would be great.
Couple of comments on Hafta now.
Thanks for the all the good work. Newslaundry is one of the websites I do check on a daily basis and will continue to do so.
Thanks,
Ashu
Hello people,
I am a big fan of NL Hafta and clothesline, I am a student residing in Berlin, Germany. I always wait for the weekend for your upload. I am giving a disclosure ;P I am not a subscriber. buti am a loyal follower of you people. I have been following NL from 2012. I am a big fan of content and pragmatic view of news organisations. Your hafta team has a balanced view except Abhinandan. I am a big fan of Madhutrehan mam. her centrist view is the kind of view which is absent in the Indian media. I really miss her view on the hafta. Deepanajana, manisha and Anand are also eloquent speakers. I want you people to talk about one news from the South and one from the northeast rather than concentrating on the Delhi-centric news. I want to subscribe to NL. The content of news on your website is informative. I would suggest you not to be so cynical and be more pragmatic to the issues. I like the idea of abhinandan on free speech and disclosures. My suggestion to the team is to make more hafta like recordings on the absurd legislations existing in the Indian constitution. I urge you people not to compare yourself wth the Indian media big houses and show yourself in the dark.
Warm regards,
Rachith Ragav
