Maoists asks Indians to support Kashmiris

Communist Party of India (CPI) – Maoists has asked “Indian public” to support “Kashmir public” in their struggle for azadi (freedom). According to a report published by The Indian Express the central committee of CPI – Maoists in a statement has said that azadi is only solution to the Kashmir crisis. “Curfew is being imposed…but people are still emerging in thousands to take part in the last rites of their children killed in police firing.”

The left-wing extremists have also said that slain Hijubul Mujahideen commander Burhan Wani was “a revolutionary fighter” and his killing was a “fake encounter”.

This is not the first time that CPI – Maoists has openly supported the demand of Azad (independent) Kashmir. Known Maoist sympathiser and ideologue Varavara Rao in 2010 had said, “Self-determination is the right of every nationality.”

Meanwhile, the curfew imposed in all ten districts of the Valley following encounter of Wani, has reached 14th day. The separatist too have called for shutdown completely derailing the life. Since then 45 people including two policemen have died in the violent clashes between the protestors and the security forces.
