In another legal victory for Salman Khan, the Rajasthan High Court on Monday acquitted the actor in the 1998 blackbuck and Chinkara poaching cases. The court said there were no witnesses or any evidence that the animals were shot by Khan’s gun. The order was passed in the actor’s absence.

ContributeThis reprieve comes at a time when Khan is embroiled in a battle with both National Women’s Commission (NCW) and Maharashtra Women’s Commission (MCW), refusing to apologise for saying he felt like a “raped woman” while shooting for Sultan. Earlier this month, the Supreme Court admitted a plea challenging Khan’s acquittal in the infamous hit-and-run case but refused to fast-track it.
