We look at two main tropes that anchors used this week to justify the Income Tax ‘surveys’ on the BBC. As the IT department did its job, BJP spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia launched a tirade against the British broadcaster. Meanwhile, TV news anchors like Aman Chopra and Arnab Goswami played supporting roles in the BJP’s war against the BBC. Palki Sharma on Firstpost questioned the BBC’s credibility, and sounded a lot like Sudhir Chaudhary on Aaj Tak. We look at how the BBC was banned during the Emergency and why we don’t need to declare an Emergency anymore.
