Four separatist leaders including Geelani’s son-in-law taken into judicial custody
A Delhi Court on Monday sent the son-in-law of Hurriyat leader Syed Ali Geelani, Altaf Ahmed Shah, and three other separatist leaders to judicial custody in an alleged terror funding case.
The duty magistrate Pankaj Sharma ordered Shah, Shahid-ul-Islam, Farooq Ahmed Dar and Mohamad Akbar Khanday to be taken into custody following a report submitted by the National Investigation Agency which stated that the four accused were no longer required for interrogation.
The NIA had arrested seven people on July 24 in the case of alleged terror funding in the Kashmir Valley. The NIA had alleged that the accused were “waging war against the country” and were involved in various offenses punishable under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.
