The Indian Premier League chief, Rajeev Shukla, has been appointed the chairman of a seven-member panel to implement the Lodha Committee reforms, the BCCI announced on Tuesday. Acting BCCI secretary Amitabh Choudhary would be the panel’s convener.

The suggestions made by the committee will be presented to the Committee of Administrators, a court-appointed panel tasked with running the Board until fresh elections are held under the Lodha guidelines.
The move is likely to delay implementation of the reforms, which were approved by the Supreme Court in July 2016, according to reports.
Acting BCCI secretary Choudhary said it was formed with the intention of examining “how best to quickly implement [the recommendations]”.
Reports state that the next hearing regarding implementation of the apex court’s judgement is on July 14 and the committee was formed to fast-track the process.
