Explained: the Haji Ali Dargah entry row
In the latest turn of events to the Haji Ali Dargah Row, the Maharashtra government has told the Bombay High Court that trustees of Haji Ali Dargah can not prevent women from entering the sanctum sanctorum of the famous shrine. This statement comes even as the trustees have drawn a line stating that “Allowing women in close proximity to the grave of a male Muslim saint is a grievous sin in Islam.” Here is the case explained.
