Shocking case of police brutality surfaces in MP
In a shocking incident of police brutality – the video of which was posted online by news agency ANI – a Government Railway Police (GRP) head constable from Madhya Pradesh’s Gwalior is seen dragging an unconscious man, after beating him up.
In the video that surfaced on Tuesday, the cop is seen thrashing the man, even after he fell unconscious following the beating he received. The constable can be further seen dragging the unconscious man by a towel wrapped around his neck. The incident reportedly took place on Saturday at the Gwalior railway station.
According to ANI, railway authorities have ordered a probe into the incident. According to this report, after the video of the beating went viral, the cop in question has been reprimanded. The report also says that the cop has claimed that the man was a pickpocket.
