NL Tippani
Mr. Hasan, do you seriously believe your own data?
Just like we offer our tuppence on the things that we feel matter, so do the others. One such came out with pretty much two bags full of data and opinions is British journalist Mehdi Hasan, who works with Al Jazeera. In a 2-minute-30-second video, fraught with numbers, percentages and maps, Hasan takes a dig at the “pseudo experts” who claim Islam and democracy don’t go together. Flinging percentages and information like the increase in the number of Muslim members in the UK Parliament, he offers a different opinion: since individual Muslims may support liberal values like democracy, this isn’t the complete story. Because let’s face it, Islamists are real as are their medieval demands. Fancy graphics are well and good, but they don’t gloss over the rest of the story, right?
In the 4th episode of NL Tippani, Madhu Trehan gives her piece of mind to the data jumble presented by Hasan.
