Three cheers for Tathagata Satpathy
Okay, this one deserves applause from the media community in particular and all right-thinking people in general. Apart from making sense on the Kashmir issue, Biju Janata Dal Lok Sabha Member of Parliament, Tathagata Satpathy, clearly stated what many other politicians should have said long ago. That it’s time we stop calling journalists words like ‘presstitute’.
In his Lok Sabha speech today Satpathy did not mince words: “There are ministers who call the media bad names like presstitutes. I am ashamed to be in a democracy in a country like India where ministers of dignity call the press, call the media such words.”
Watch at 13:00.
Hope, you’re listening, General VK Singh.
