Chase
Chase episode 7: The Millionaire Bouncers
You may have the money, the right car and even a girlfriend. But on any given weekend, what stands between you and the club of your choice, is the slightest of a nod from a square-jawed wall of muscle, or what we call a ‘bouncer’.
If you happen to be from Delhi, chances are that the bouncer whose approval you seek, is from the twin urban village of Asola-Fetehpur Beri, near south Delhi’s posh farmhouse belt, Chhatarpur.
Walking a tightrope between rural India and new India, over 200 young, male residents of Asola-Fetehpur Beri guard Delhi and Gurgaon’s night clubs against brawls and unruly customers.
In the latest documentary from Chase, a collaboration between Scoopwhoop and Newslaundry, directors and reporters Avalok Langer and Samdish Bhatia explore this unique village of muscle men and the lives of the National Capital Region’s bouncers.
