Who Got Their Numbers Right
While the battle for supremacy in the Delhi assembly has been decisively won by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), the battle for the title of most accurate exit pollster went to the India News-Axis poll.
While all the major exit polls barring Datamineria got the general trend right, the scale of AAP’s victory was grossly underestimated. The India News-Axis poll and its bold prediction of a sub-20 showing for the Bharatiya Janata Party and a total in excess of 50 for AAP was closest to the mark. The usually-reliable Chanakya came in a close second. Still, in a field where there are no prizes for second, India News-Axis walks away with this elections’ bragging rights.
