Animals as part of festivities in India: What should be banned?

If you’ve been paying attention to the news lately, then you know about Jallikattu, Tamil Nadu’s very own tradition of bull-taming during the festival of Pongal.

The Supreme Court has banned the sport in a recent order and that’s got conversations on animal cruelty filling our news pages and prime-time debates. So, we thought we’d conduct a little “mood-of-the-nation” poll to figure out what people really feel about the issue of animals not having such a jolly time during our spirited festivities (because our “nation” extends to the readers of Newslaundry, which is completely representative obviously).
