Why are Indian women dropping out of the workforce
While India had much to boast on International Women’s Day – state owned Air India flew an aircraft from Delhi to San Francisco non-stop entirely comandeered by a female crew. But, a feat like this only highlights the sheer disparities in the country as currently only about 27% of women work in India. More women in the workforce would just mean a more productive and progressive economy. A women’s day is a good moment to pause on reflect on the long journey ahead.
