Arnab’s The Newshour with Arnab Goswami is the greatest
That Times Now Editor-in-Chief Arnab Goswami is the (self-proclaimed) undisputed king of English prime-time news is no secret. But in case anyone forgets, Goswami and his team at Times Now have them covered. Of course, reminding viewers of the channel’s superior viewership numbers also serves the immensely satisfying purpose of humiliating its rivals.
NewsX Editor-in-Chief Rahul Shivshankar, who shares the prime-time slot with Goswami, was informed by Times Now yesterday that Arnab’s Newshour is “2549% greater than NewsX”. For those struggling to do the math (and trying to fathom how a news programme can be “greater” than an entire channel), Times Now is implying that their viewership figures during prime time (9 pm to 10.30 pm) fromMonday to Friday between October 1 and October 7 are more than 25 times that of NewsX in the same time period.
That’s not it. The message was loud and clear for CNN-News18 and NDTV.
Great, Times Now. Next, can we please have a slideshow on how Goswami’s Newshour stacks up against Bigg Boss, Nach Baliye and Sa Re Ga Ma Pa? It is the entertainment space, after all, that The Newshour has changed.
