Former Bastar IG could attend IIMC event on journalism
An event titled “Vartaman Pariprekshya me Rashtriya Patrakarita (Mainstream Journalism in Contemporary India)” is scheduled to take place at the Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC) in Delhi on May 20. The day-long event will kick-off with a yagya, followed by discussion on topics like “Vanchit Samaj ke Sawal (Questions about Deprived Sections of Society)”, “Jammu-Kashmir ke Sawal (Questions about Jammu and Kashmir)” and “Itihaas Punarlekhan: Aavashyakta ya Shadhiyantra (Rewriting History: Necessity or Conspiracy)” among others. Director General of IIMC KG Suresh will be attending the event and participate in the opening discussion.
One of the panellists on the discussion about “Questions about Deprived Sections of Society” is slated to be SRP Kalluri, the controversial former Inspector General (IG) of Bastar Range in Chhattisgarh. A letter inviting Kalluri to the event has been accessed by Newslaundry.
However, Ashish Anshu from Media Scan, one of the organisers of the event, told Newslaundry that though Kalluri has been invited, he has yet to confirm his participation.
