On “biggest attack against AAP”, Kejriwal says would have been in jail if allegations were true

Aam Aadmi Party chief, Arvind Kejriwal has finally responded to allegations being made by former Delhi minister Kapil Mishra. He said there is “not even in an iota of truth” in Mishra’s allegation.

Kejriwal addressing his party members on Sunday said that he could fight against “all corrupt forces in the world” but it hurts when your own betrays. “Jab apne dhokha dete hain to wahan dard hota hai, bahut dard hota hai (When your own betray you, it hurts a lot), he said on an emotional note.

AAP had called Delhi state office-bearer’s meeting on Sunday. Senior leadership including members of the apex body of the party – Parliamentary Affairs Committee – spoke to its legislators, newly elected councillor, polling in charges and even those who lost the civic body polls.

Kejriwal for the first time not only responded to the allegation being made by Mishra but also accepted this was the “biggest attack against AAP” so far. He asked his party workers to stay prepared in order to counter these allegations.

AAP supremo said that the Shunglu committee report vindicated their stand. Even after the investigation of 405 files of AAP government, they could find no financial corruption of even a rupee.

“Kejriwal ne 2 crore rupay le liye, ab usme koi sabut nahi,(They said I have taken [a bribe] of Rs 2 crore. There is no proof of it) said Kejriwal. He further added, “I would have been in jail had there been an iota of truth in his allegations.”

On the AAP’s funding, he assured the party leaders. “jabtak mein iss party ki kaman sambhale hoon, bharosha rakhna kabhi iss chande ko apavitra nahi hone dunga (Till the time I am in charge of this party, I assure you, I will ensure our funding remains clean.)
