Spot the tubelight: Reporter asks a child actor from Arunachal Pradesh if he has come to India for the first time
Press conferences aren’t usually known as events where journalists ask incisive questions. In fact, most of them turn out to be pretty insipid affairs with reporters asking either rehearsed or very tame questions. But even so, a reporter at a press conference held for promoting the movie Tubelight really took the cake when she asked the child actor from Arunachal Pradesh if he was visiting India for the first time. The Chinese must be gloating about this.
Matin Rey Tangu, who is co-starring in Salman Khan’s upcoming movie Tubelight comes from Itanagar, and showed some remarkable presence of mind in replying to the reporter. The eight-year-old said, “Hum toh India me hi baitha hai, toh India kaise ayega?” (I stay in India, how will I come here again?).
Matin is the youngest son of Monisha Karbak and Capt. Anupam Tangu, who worknls as Officer on Special Duty to Deputy Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh.
