NDA names Venkaiah Naidu for vice-president
Union Urban Development Minister M. Venkaiah Naidu will be the National Democratic Alliance’s vice-presidential nominee, BJP president Amit Shah announced on Monday.
Naidu has been the BJP president twice and is currently its vice-president. He will face the Opposition’s vice-presidential candidate Gopal Krishna Gandhi, the former West Bengal Governor.
Shah told the media that all NDA allies have welcomed Naidu’s candidature and the BJP parliamentary party has unanimously approved his candidature. He will file his nomination papers for the vice-presidential poll tomorrow, Shah said.
