NL Interviews: Yashwant Sinha on how BJP ‘dumped’ his Kashmir reports
Senior member of the Bharatiya Janata Party, and former Finance Minister and External Affairs Minister, Yashwant Sinha talks to Newslaundry about Kashmir. For the past three years, Sinha and four others have made an annual visit to the Valley to talk to a cross-section of people including the separatists. These groups have closed their doors to most politicians from Delhi but have always welcomed Sinha and his team. Following each trip, the team has submitted a CCG (Concerned Citizens Group) report to the Centre making recommendations based on their observations. In this interview, Sinha, who has supposedly been sidelined by the BJP for being vocal about his views on Kashmir, talks about the Valley, his observations and the Centre’s response to his reports.
