#Ryan School: CBI detains class 11 student in Pradyuman murder case
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has apprehended a class 11 student of Gurugram’s Ryan International School for the murder of the seven-year-old Pradyuman Thakur, a student in the same school, CBI spokesperson Abhishek Dayal confirmed today.
The CBI on Wednesday said the class 11 boy had committed the murder to get the scheduled exams and parent-teacher meeting postponed, reports stated. This news comes days after the arrest of a conductor, Ashok Kumar, who had been accused of the killing. According to the police, Kumar, who had allegedly killed the boy for resisting sexual assault, had confessed to his murder.
However, the news agency ANI quoted the CBI as saying that “no sexual assault theory came out during our investigation.”
While the CBI will produce the detained student before a juvenile court later during the day, the investigating agency hasn’t given a clean chit to the conductor, ANI reported.
Speaking to the media about his son’s arrest, the class 11 student’s father was quoted by ANI as saying that the CBI arrested his son last night. The father also said, “My son has not committed the crime, he informed gardener and teachers.”
