Siddharth Zarabi, Abhijit Majumder shortlisted for top edit jobs at Prasar Bharati
The national public broadcaster, Prasar Bharati, seems have shortlisted Business Television India’s Siddharth Zarabi and Mail Today’s Abhijit Majumder for top editorial positions, The Indian Express reported.
“A high-level committee has identified Siddharth Zarabi for Head of TV News in DD News and Abhijit Majumder for the position of Chief Editor, Prasar Bharati News Service (PBNS),” the report stated.
If made official, it is likely that Zarabi will be reporting to the Director General of Doordarshan News and will be responsible for news production operations. Whereas, Majumder will be responsible for news service operations and would be reporting to the Director General of News at All India Radio, the report stated.
While the report did not cite a source, no official announcements have been made either. But that hasn’t stopped Twitterati from criticising the potential appointments or congratulating the two.
Majumder had courted controversy last month for spreading misinformation on Twitter pertaining to the Kasganj riots.
