CBI raids former Bihar CM Rabri Devi’s residence
The Central Bureau of Investigation on Tuesday conducted raids at the Patna residence of former Bihar chief minister Rabri Devi, wife of RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav.
This raid was in connection with allegations that Lalu Prasad, as railway minister, had handed over the maintenance of two hotels run by an Indian Railways’ subsidiary, Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), to a private company in return for a three-acre plot in Patna.
Lalu’s son Tejashwi Yadav was questioned for nearly four hours. In fact, JD(U) leader Nitish Kumar had cited this case as the reason for his party splitting away from the mahagathbandhan last year.
According to the Tribune News Service, Tejaswi Yadav has accused rivals JD(U) and the BJP of framing his family in the case.
