#RajasthanPolls: In conversation with young citizens who cast their vote

Rajasthan went to vote on December 7, with the Election Commission announcing a voter turnout of 72.62 per cent. Newslaundry‘s Amit Bhardwaj was reporting on the ground, interviewing voters as they queued up to cast their vote. He caught up with a slew of first-time voters as well, like Aditya Sharma, who told him he was casting his vote based on a party’s manifesto and leadership. Then there was Nazra Parveen in Jaipur near Hawa Mahal, who talked about the issues that concern her as a young female, something that first-time voter Palak agreed with since she said women’s issues and education are the major factors that influence her vote. Meanwhile, Dr Shweta Sharma thinks sanitation issues and unemployment issues need to be dealt with on a priority basis by whoever comes to power.
