Videos show liquor distributed to children in presence of BJP MP Naresh Agrawal
In Hardoi, liquor bottles were found inside food packets that were distributed in an event organised for the Pasi Community by Nitin Agrawal, the son of Rajya Sabha member and BJP leader Naresh Agrawal who was also present there. Videos show two minor boys in possession of the packets that contain liquor and one of them can be heard saying that he has come along with his father and the packet has been given to him by Nitin Agrawal.
Taking cognizance of the matter local BJP MP Anshul Verma wrote a letter to CM Yogi Adityanath accusing Agrawal of hurting the sanctity of the temple where the event was held while confirming the presence of liquor in the packets.
Gyananjay Singh, the ASP of Hardoi, assured action in a statement, saying, “There is a video going viral, we have accessed some photos and inputs which show presence of liquor in packets given to students. We have received the information and all necessary actions will be taken.”
In 2017, when Agarwal was a member of the Samajwadi Party, he made a comment in the Rajya Sabha linking Hindu gods with different types of alcohol. His comments were expunged from records.
