‘This ₹30,000 crore could be given to you when you die’: Rahul Gandhi to pilots about #RafaleDeal
Yesterday, Congress chief Rahul Gandhi launched a blistering attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party over new details revealed about the Rafale deal. Gandhi cited a report carried in The Hindu which said during negotiations between India and France, the Defence Ministry reportedly “raised strong objections” to “parallel negotiations” conducted by the Prime Minister’s Office with France.
During his press conference though, Gandhi said something that didn’t go down well.
Yes. He said to his “friends in the Air Force” that PM Narendra Modi had “stolen ₹30,000 crore from you”, and added: “This ₹30,000 crore could be given to your families. This ₹30,000 crore could be given to you when you die in a plane crash.”
Social media was quick to latch on to his statement, and it wasn’t pretty.
