Congress fields local TV news anchor Satya Prakash Nayak to face BJP’s Sambit Patra in Puri
The Congress party on Friday, March 29, released the candidate list for seven Lok Sabha and 20 Assembly seats in Odisha. The 2019 Lok Sabha polls and Odisha’s Assembly elections will take place in first four phases. The polls will be held on April 11, 18, 23 and 29.
The Congress has announced that the party’s media cell Chairman Satya Prakash Nayak will fight from the Puri seat. For the Bharatiya Janata Party, national spokesperson Sambit Patra is contesting from Puri, as for the Biju Janata Dal, Pinaki Mishra will be contesting from the seat.
Formerly a journalist, Nayak has over two decades of experience. As for the BJP’s candidate, Patra rose to prominence with his regular appearance on TV news.
