CNN story quotes ‘Chowkidar Sushma Swaraj’, Twitter is much amused

CNN today reported on a tragedy in Ohio where four members of a Sikh family were shot dead. The story went on to quote external affairs minister Sushma Swaraj’s response to the event, as one of the victims was an Indian national. However, since CNN was quoting the minister from her Twitter account, it referred to her by what it thought was her full name: Chowkidar Sushma Swaraj.

While the copy has since been updated to simply “Sushma Swaraj”, social media was much amused by the turn of events.
