#INXMediaCase: P Chidambaram’s anticipatory bail plea rejected by Delhi High Court
The Delhi High Court today rejected an anticipatory bail plea filed by former finance minister P Chidambaram in the INX Media case. Justice Sunil Gaur said: “Both the petitions (in CBI and ED case) are dismissed.”
Both the CBI and ED had opposed Chidambaram’s plea, saying his custodial interrogation was required as he was evasive during questioning. The Hindu Business Line reports: “After the court pronounced the order, senior advocate Dayan Krishnan, appearing for Chidambaram, sought stay on the operation of the order for three days, to which the court said that it will consider the request and will pass order on it.”
According to reports, Chidambaram’s lawyers are likely to approach the Supreme Court after the rejection of his anticipatory bail plea. Chidambaram’s son Karti has also been named in the two cases.
