Former TV9 CEO arrested once again, this time for allegedly creating a fake email ID

V Ravi Prakash, former CEO of TV 9, has been taken into custody once again in a case registered against him for creating a fake ID card, reports The Hindu

Prakash is currently lodged in Hyderabad’s Chanchalguda jail, having been arrested in a cheating case. He was produced in a local court in the city on a prisoner transit warrant and remanded to judicial custody till October 30.

On October 17, a local court in Hyderabad granted bail to Prakash in the cheating case.

Now, the Cyberabad police has accused Prakash of creating a fake email ID in the name of A Natarajan and sending mails on behalf of Hyderabad-based iLabs Group. A case has been registered against Ravi Prakash under the IT Act, the police said.

The iLabs group has alleged that confidential documents of the company were sent to an outsider by email. The mail was sent by one A Natrajan, who claimed to be an employee of the firm. However, there was no A Natarajan working with them. The group approached the police in May this year and stated that their information was being stolen and the same was being shared using fake email IDs.

According to the New Indian Express, upon inquiry, the police found that the mail was sent from the IP address allegedly accessed by Ravi Prakash.
