Watch: BBC 'uncovers evidence' that police 'acted alongside Hindu rioters' during Delhi riots

On Wednesday, BBC News said it had "uncovered evidence" that the Delhi police "acted alongside Hindu rioters during a wave of attack on Muslims last week".

BBC’s Yogita Limae, Nick Wooley, and Shalu Yadav visited North East Delhi to investigate the riots and the credibility of videos of the violence being posted on social media. Their ground report reveals instances of brutality targeting a particular community, and substantiates claims of the Delhi police’s involvement in the violence.

Himanshu Rathod, a local who was allegedly involved in the violence, told BBC, “We didn’t have enough stones and the police brought us some.”

A Muslim man, whose property was burnt down in the clashes, said, “I saw the police coming with the rioters who set the shops on fire.”

The video report included details on the death of Faizan, allegedly after being beaten by the police. Faizan was one of the men, in the now viral video, being forced to sing the national anthem by the police. The report also interviewed Rashid, a man who said he was beaten up by the police.
