Lok Sabha TV and Rajya Sabha TV merged into Sansad TV, retired IAS officer appointed as CEO
Lok Sabha TV and Rajya Sabha TV have been merged into one entity called Sansad Television or Sansad TV. According to a circular issued by Sansad TV, former Union textile secretary and retired IAS officer Ravi Capoor has been appointed as the channels chief executive officer on a contract basis for one year.
The circular, dated March 1, 2021, was signed by Sunil Minocha, the under secretary of Sansad Television.
Additionally, IB Times reported that Manoj Kumar Pandey, the CEO of Rajya Sabha TV has been "relieved of his duties".
In June, the Hindu had reported that under the banner of Sansad TV, both Lok Sabha TV and Rajya Sabha TV will continue to telecast live proceedings of the respective Houses while working under an integrated management. The report quoted an unnamed official as saying that the merger was part of an attempt to "go beyond the proceedings of the two Houses and show the functioning of Parliament and parliamentarians when the Houses are not in session".
