TV Newsance Episode 124: Modi gets the vaccine and Sudhir Chaudhary’s Bengal analysis
This week, we take a look at the wall to wall coverage that our news channels gave to the PM on the day he got vaccinated. From his early morning “aam aadmi” visit to AIIMS, to some good ol’ opposition bashing for asking questions of the supreme leader, channels did their best to eulogise the PM for doing what every head of the state was bound to do.
We also look at Sudhir Chaudhary’s detailed political analysis of the West Bengal election. He, yet again, went down the “Modi vs Rest Of The World” and “Nationalism vs Liberalism” route, while his reporters faced the heat from young voters on the ground for being partisan in their coverage.
We also look at Rohit Sardana’s continuing chaos-driven debating and India’s move from “free” to “partially free” in the Freedom In The World 2021 report put out by the American NGO Freedom House.
