UP Covid Disaster
Inside a Gorakhpur hospital overrun with Covid
To see how the deadly second wave of the coronavirus pandemic is devastating rural Uttar Pradesh, one need only visit the Gorakhpur District Hospital.
There are so many patients from surrounding villages that stretchers have had to be turned into beds. Most of patients admitted with Covid need oxygen, but there isn't enough of it. Nor are there enough doctors and medical staff. Some attendants are so angry and disillusioned they are taking their patients home rather than staying put.
Watch.
