Explained: Why did FIFA ban India’s football federation?
FIFA, world football’s governing body, has banned the All India Football Federation, jeopardising the careers of footballers in the country. Most immediately, the ban has led to India losing its host status for this autumn’s U-17 Women’s World Cup and cost Indian football teams participation in international competitions.
