Hafta 421: Elections in the Northeast, BJP’s politics

This week, Newslaundry’s Abhinandan Sekhri, Manisha Pande, Raman Kirpal and Anand Vardhan are joined by Amit Kumar, executive editor of EastMojo

Amit explains the ongoing assembly elections in Tripura, Meghalaya and Nagaland and why he thinks Tripura “might be the most interesting state in 2023 for elections”. The panel discusses how the BJP has made itself attractive in Nagaland, a Christian state, and the RSS’s presence in the Northeast. They also talk about the media’s coverage of movements in these states.

The conversation also briefly touches upon the Pawan Khera incident and the BJP’s response, and why it’s not “just about politics” when it comes to the saffron party.

Tune in.
