Another Election Show: Kharge on Cong defeat ‘due to progressive policies’
The upcoming elections in Karnataka are crucial for the Congress and its chief Mallikarjun Kharge, who hails from the state and is among the party’s 40 star campaigners.
In an interview with Newslaundry’s Manisha Pande and The News Minute’s Pooja Prasanna, Kharge discusses money and muscle power, PM Narendra Modi, the Adani Group, and more.
The Congress chief asks who is donating money to the BJP if the party is “non-corrupt” as it claims to be. “We have lost power because of implementing such progressive things and involving secular forces,” Kharge says, when asked about the impact of communalism on Karnataka politics.
“We are fighting locally. We are not fighting with Modi,” he says, talking about his party’s campaign.
