‘It’s an election of change’: Rohtak voters on Ram Rahim’s parole, Dera impact on polls
In the last phase of Haryana polls, Another Election Show has reached Rohtak-based Maharishi Dayanand University, where we speak to students and professors about the key issues that will decide their votes.
In this discussion, the pannellists talk about the political trends in Haryana, the repeated parole granted to self-styled godman and rape accused Ram Rahim, culture of the Dera or cult, and its impact on the Haryana polls.
Professor Rajendra Sharma says, “This election is an election of change. Therefore, the Dera will not have any impact. People of Haryana are politically aware. The people here change their government every five years. If you look at the history of Haryana in the last 50-55 years, no political party has got continuous majority.”
