Abhinav Arora’s family seeks FIR against ‘anti-Hindu YouTubers’, points to ‘Lawrence Bishnoi threat’
The family of Abhinav Arora, a 10-year-old child who claims to be a spiritual orator and is also known as Bal Sant Baba, has reportedly moved a court in Uttar Pradesh’s Mathura seeking an FIR against at least seven YouTubers for allegedly trolling the minor.
The criminal complaint also claimed defamation and a bid to disrupt religious harmony.
The minor had courted controversy when Hindu spiritual leader Swami Rambhadracharya scolded him in public while he was dancing enthusiastically on stage.
Opinion is divided on social media with many accusing Abhinav’s family of using him for personal gain. The minor has nearly a million followers on Instagram, has tried to brand himself as among the country’s youngest spiritual orators, and claims to have started his spiritual journey at three years old.
Earlier, YouTube channel Only Desi uploaded a video raising doubts about the authenticity of Arora’s claims. Arora was a product of careful coaching by his parents, especially his father Tarun Raj Arora, it was claimed.
Meanwhile, the complaint before the magisterial court claimed that anti-Hindu YouTubers are generating money by targeting the child.
“The actions of the accused persons have caused immense emotional suffering for the complainant’s minor child, especially considering that the complainant’s minor child is only 10 years old. He is unable to freely practice his religion or live his daily life without the fear of being harassed or insulted physically or online,” it stated, adding that the complainant had earlier approached the police, according to Bar and Bench.
“It is alleged that the accused is an anti-Hindu element, and the content of the videos was crafted to promote hate against the practices and beliefs of the Hindu religion, thereby polluting the minds of its followers.”
Meanwhile, the minor’s mother Jyoti Arora told ANI that he received a life threat from Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang on Monday. “Efforts are being made to do our social escalation through social media. Abhinav has not done anything due to which we are getting threats...Abhinav has not done anything other than devotion that he has to tolerate so much,” she said.
“We received a call message from Lawrence Bishnoi group today where we were being threatened that Abhinav would be killed. Last night, we got a call that I missed. We received a message from the same number today that they would kill Abhinav.”
