X moves Karnataka HC over takedown orders through govt portal
Social media platform X Corp has moved the Karnataka High Court challenging the Centre’s Sahyog portal, Bar and Bench reported.
Sahyog is an online platform that allows agencies to issue information-blocking orders. The petition reportedly claimed that the portal and related government actions circumvent the statutory framework of the IT Act and the Supreme Court’s landmark judgment in Shreya Singhal vs Union of India.
The case briefly came up for hearing before Justice M Nagaprasanna on March 17. It will now be heard by the court on March 27.
