Air India crash: For grieving families, closure awaits a DNA match
The funerals of many of the victims of the Air India crash are yet to happen and closure remains tough as families wait for DNA test reports – only 86 bodies have reportedly been verified so far.
On Sunday, four victims were cremated at the Thaltej crematorium in Ahmedabad.
Among them were two siblings from Udaipur’s Shailynagar who were en route to London for a holiday. They were the only children of Sanjeev and Shweta Modi. “It still doesn’t feel real,” said Yashpal Singh, a close friend of Sanjeev, who described the siblings as bright and grounded. Both worked in their father’s marble import-export business in Udaipur.
Meanwhile, many like Yaseen Ismail Bhai Bora, whose wife was on the flight to London, continue to wait for confirmation.
