TV Newsance 319: Bihar dramebaazi and Yamuna PR wash
This week on TV Newsance, the drama shifts from Delhi’s ghats to Bihar’s gullies, and the Godi anchors are outdoing themselves yet again!
From riding horses and Bullets to perfecting their “Bhojpuri” accents, TV anchors turned full-on Bollywood this election season. Forget ground reporting, this was pure ground acting.
Back in Delhi, they did what they do best – “chatoing” the government. With Delhi going through one of its worst pollution crises and the Yamuna dying a little more everyday, if a journalist gets an audience with the Delhi CM, they should ask questions and demand accountability.
But not our Godijeevis. Instead, they asked Rekha Gupta groundbreaking questions such as “what is the difference between a male CM and a female CM” and “how does it feel to be a female superstar who is more famous than her husband”. While Sudhir asked no questions about the bad Yamuna water quality or the fake pond created by BJP, Anjana batted from the shoulder of “AAP accusations”.
So, while the rest of the media drowned in theatrics, Newslaundry reporters hit the ground in Bihar and Delhi to bring you news on the real issues – air, water, and accountability. Also, don’t miss our very fun skit on Prashant Kishor.
