2025 In Review
Sansad Watch 2025 special: Did our MPs do their jobs this year?
In our final Sansad Watch episode, we take stock of what happened in Parliament this year.
Parliament convened for three sessions this year: Budget, Monsoon, and Winter. During these sessions, some issues became the focus of debate, such as Operation Sindoor and Vande Mataram. Important bills were passed into law, such as the Income-tax Act, 2025, and the Viksit Bharat-Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) Act, 2025, amidst much commotion but little meaningful discussion. However, crucial issues remained absent from parliamentary debates, such as the worsening air quality in Delhi-NCR. (See historical data on discussions on Dataful here.)
In this special episode, we discuss in detail everything that happened in Parliament throughout the year – important issues debated, issues overlooked, bills passed, and who the Lok Sabha Speaker allegedly favoured and who he was displeased with.
