Here’s how cartoonists made the most of Yoga Day
The 2nd International Yoga Day celebrations across the globe and in different parts of India not only gave photographers an opportunity for some great shots, but also provided a great peg for some telling cartoons.
Here are some that caught our eye.
The Hindu’s Keshav juxtaposed Yoga Day with the recent “big bang FDI reforms”. Is “reform-asana” really easy for the elephant-esque Indian economy, the cartoon asks.
Indian Express’ EP Unny asks what most of us have been thinking for some time, but were scared to voice – Isn’t there too much brouhaha going on about Yoga? *Runs for dear life*
Sify.com’s Satish Acharya looks at Yoga Day in the context of #Rexit, and some controversial appointments like that of Pahlaj Nihalani, Gajendra Chauhan and Chetan Chauhan. Is Chamchon the new Mitron, Modi jee?
Manoj Kureel of ABP looks at the asanas our political leaders would most likely do. Kejri asana seems legit.
We have saved the best for the last. For the uninitiated, Kunjal Kriya is performed for the purification of the upper digestive tract. It is done by drinking lukewarm, salty water till the point one vomits. Bhaijaan doesn’t need it, though.
