Vinod Khanna passes away at the age of 70

Veteran Hindi Cinema actor and politician Vinod Khanna passed away at the age of 70 in Mumbai today morning. The actor was suffering from cancer.

Vinod Khanna was admitted to Sri HN Reliance Foundation Hospital and Research Centre in Girgaon, Mumbai. Rahul Khanna, the actor’s son had issued a statement on March 31, saying, “Dad was hospitalised on Friday for severe dehydration. The situation was quickly brought under control, he’s doing much better and the doctors are looking to discharge him soon. Our family is most grateful for the extraordinary care he’s been receiving at the hospital and we are touched by all the good wishes pouring in.”

The actor was last seen in Ek Thi Rani Aisi Bhi, playing the role of king of Gwalior, opposite actress and politician Hema Malini.

Vinod Khanna was sitting MP from Gurdaspur district, Punjab. He made his mark in blockbusters movies like Amar Akbar and Anthony, Qurbani andMuqaddar Ka Sikandar. His recent movies include Dabangg, Dabangg 2 andDilwale.
