Three policewomen talk against misogyny, India Today plays item song beside the footage
What are the images and videos to play while engaging in a discussion with female police officers talking against misogyny? Definitely not the ones India Today chose to go with.
While the three Tamil Nadu police officers were being vocal about the portrayal of women in Indian films and how that is encouraging men to stalk women, as a reference, India Today played clips from the song Odum Unakithu from the Tamil movie Yaaruda Mahesh. Take a look:
Let’s take a minute to notice that the box for the women are not quite proportionate to the box in which the item number is being played.
We don’t want to rain on anyone’s parade here, but doesn’t this juxtaposition seem to negate the exact point these three officers are trying to make?
