#NandyalByPoll results: Telugu Desam Party’s Bhuma Brahmananda Reddy wins
Telugu Desam Party’s candidate Bhuma Brahmananda Reddy has won the bypolls in Nandyal, one of Andhra Pradesh’s 14 constituencies, with 96,185 votes. While the YSR Congress Party came second with 69,156 votes, Congress stood third lagging behind with a huge margin of 1153 votes.
Lauding the victory of a fellow party member, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu said, “People have again shown confidence and trust in development and good governance,” after the results were announced.
The bypolls in the state’s Rayalaseema area assumes significance as the area has over 2 lakh voters and has been witnessing a political void ever since the death of its sitting MLA Bhuma Nagi Reddy, who died of a heart attack on March 12 early this year. The polls also marks three years of the CM Naidu’s TDP in power.
