Rajsamand killing: Shambhulal Regar uploads video from Jodhpur Central Jail alleging threat to life
Thirty-six-year-old Shambhulal Regar has been in prison since December as the accused in the gruesome murder of a Muslim labourer from West Bengal. Despite this, it appears that he was able to upload a video from the Jodhpur Central Jail, NDTV reported.
NDTV reported that two videos were circulated. In one of them, Regar can be seen reading a statement where he is asking Hindus to unite against Jihadis. He has also claimed that there was a threat to his life. The report says, “He expresses no regrets for his crime. ‘I couldn’t bear threats to Hindu women. I have ruined my life and I don’t regret it. But I am sad about the fact that the law and the media showed illicit relationship with her and me,’ he says. Media reports, including by NDTV, exposed how a failed relationship with a minor could have triggered Regar’s chilling crime.”
According to reports, a first information report has been filed and jail officials are sifting through the barracks to track down the mobile phone.
While Regar told the police that it wasn’t his phone, he hasn’t revealed whose phone it was.
