East Delhi gets a full-page congratulations from Arvind Kejriwal
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has another flyover in his kitty. And from the looks of it, it has been a tough achievement as is clear from the full-sized last page advertisement in the January 25 Delhi edition of The Indian Express. Featuring a picture of a flyover, the ad has Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal congratulating East Delhi.
“Your government has constructed another flyover despite all obstacles,” the ad states. On January 18 this year, a Times of India report confirmed that the construction of the flyover was running behind by 16 months. This delay was caused by “technical glitches, land acquisition issues, working under the metro line and shifting of high-tension wires”.
Those perusing the newspaper might be glad for Kejriwal government’s gallantry in the face of tech, land and pesky wires. So what if it took him 16 months? He is, after all, going to make Delhi the “best city in the world”, right?
